Texture revolutionary to footwear that takes hold on icy and slippery surfaces

Sum Up
A land where ice has formed by low temperatures can become dangerous so the team Tilak Dutta and Reza Rizvi, the Rehabilitation Institute of Toronto, is testing the material in a laboratory with a novel platform that can be lifted into the air and inclined to create sloping ground covered with ice and snow. The heel of this prototype winter shoe is made of a gummy plastic in which is embedded the tens of thousands of tiny glass fibers protruding slightly as microscopic nails to get a good grip to the ice.

Opinion
This is really useful because every winter a lot of persons broke any bone becaus they have a bad fail. I think it's a good idea but I also think that is difficult to put this texture in all the shoes.
Here in Spain is not useful at all because here doesn't snow a lot but in some places, there are more days snowing that clear sky
Vocabulary
Heel: the back part of the human foot, below and behind the ankle.
